Biography
Marco Ignoti is a versatile clarinettist. After graduating with honours at the Parma Conservatory, he started developing an interest in contemporary music.
At the end of the 90s, he founded two ensembles focused on 20th century and contemporary repertoire, Trio Klee and Farben Ensemble, which gained international recognition.
He is the clarinettist of FontanaMIXensemble and Syntax Ensemble, both having a well-established presence in the Italian and European contemporary music scene. With the ensembles he has played in renowned theatres and festivals in Italy and Europe. He has played with other renowned ensembles such as: Sentieri Selvaggi, Mdi ensemble, Arsenale Ensemble, Ensemble Risognanze, Nextime ensemble.
He collaborates with renowned and emerging composers and musicians, also giving masterclasses in composing for clarinet.
Ignoti extends his musical interests not only to the contemporary repertoire, but also to classical one. He has performed as a soloist in Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, with the Camerata del Titano. He has played in several orchestras, such as Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra dell’Emilia Romagna “A. Toscanini”, Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Parma. He also focuses on classical chamber music repertoire, performing with pianist Stefano Malferrari and violist Corrado Carnevali.
Marco is also active in the jazz scene, performing with the Chironomic Orchestra and ParmaFrontiere Orchestra.
